Norman Career Service provides a link between your students and employers diligently seeking them. We appreciate your support and cooperation in promoting this link, and want to offer you opportunities to collaborate with NCS by providing:
* Classroom speakers. You pick a career-planning subject or choose from our many presentations (interviewing skills, resume writing, job search, professional image, business etiquette, mock interviews).
* Career Fairs. Come to the fairs to meet the recruiters representing your teaching area and encourage your students to attend. Send a roster and we will ensure your students sign-in, then return the roster to you. The BIG (Business, Industry, Government) Fair is always the last Wednesday of October. NCS also hosts an Educator’s Fair and an Engineering Fair.
* Triple Series Workshops. A cooperative effort between a faculty committee and NCS to provide students training in resume writing, interviewing skills, professional dress and business etiquette meals. Students attending all three workshops receive a certificate of completion suitable for use in a portfolio. Students must sign up and pay a charge. Schedules are posted on our website (http://careers.atu.edu) for your convenience.
* Career-Related Projects. Use NCS resources (Internship books, job listings, What To Do With This Major, how-to books, career assessment tools, creating resumes, mock interviews, etc.) to establish a class project.
*Job Registers. Tell your students they may register on MonsterTRAK, NACELink or ArkansasJobs.net to learn about job opportunities available in their field. They are all free and easy to use. Students can upload their resumes to apply to campus interviews, or other jobs available in their field. MonsterTRAK also includes International job listings for nationals and foreign nationals. We can walk a student through the registration process via phone. Contact us at 479-968-0278.
*Email List. We can put you on an email list to notify you of pending campus interviews, workshops and career fairs. You may announce these events in your classroom. To be added to an email list, contact Jayne Sewell (jsewell@atu.edu; 479-964-0850).
